Octoëchos 202: 2nd Mode – T1 2026
This course serves as a systematic primer in the theoretical and practical aspects of 2nd Mode. This mode will be studied within the context of the Anastasimatarion; that is, the Resurrectional hymns of Saturday night Vespers and Sunday morning Orthros. Upon completing this course, a student will be proficient in the heirmologic and sticheraric forms of 2nd Mode.
Enrollment in this class includes enrollment in Voice Lab 100. Students are encouraged to look at Voice Lab topics and attend sessions that interest them.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the mid-level Octoëchos classes (Oct 208, 201, 205, 203 & 207) or instructor approval.
