Typikon 100 – Term 3 2025
Typikon 100 is a course designed for beginners, who would like to learn the order of the Divine Services. In Typikon 100, we will learn the basic outlines of the major services of the Orthodox Church: Vespers, Matins and the Divine Liturgy, focusing on the fixed portions of the services rather than the variable elements. We will also learn how to use the major church books, such as the Great Horologion, the Octoechos, the Menaion, the Triodion, the Pentecostarion, and the Psalter. The teacher has office hours available each week for students to ask questions, but there are no live practice sessions for this course. Students should plan to come to the first week’s office hours and at least half of the other ones.
