Octoëchos 207: Grave Mode – T1 2026

This course serves as a systematic primer in the theoretical and practical aspects of Grave Mode.  This mode will be studied within the context of the Anastasimatarion; that is, the Resurrectional hymns of Saturday night Vespers and Sunday morning Orthros.  Upon completing this course, a student will be proficient in the heirmologic and sticheraric forms of Grave Mode.  This course will also feature three weeks of instruction on diatonic Grave Mode.

Enrollment in this class includes enrollment in Voice Lab 100. Students are encouraged to look at Voice Lab topics and attend sessions that interest them.

Prerequisite(s): Octoëchos 208 or placement test
