This course serves as a systematic primer in the theoretical and practical aspects of Plagal 2nd Mode.  This mode will be studied within the context of the Anastasimatarion; that is, the Resurrectional hymns of Saturday night Vespers and Sunday morning Orthros.  Upon completing this course, a student will be proficient in the heirmologic and sticheraric forms of Plagal 2nd Mode.

Prerequisite(s): ByzB103 (Basic Reading Fluency) or an equivalent course of study.

Class Dates: 4th Term 2023 (October 30 – December 17)
Weekly Chant Labs (all times Eastern):
Tuesdays, 3:30 – 4:00 pm
Tuesdays, 4:00 – 4:30 pm
Thursdays, 5:00 – 5:30 pm
Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:00 pm
Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:00 pm
Fridays, 1:00 – 1:30 pm

More Chant Lab times will be added as needed based on number of students enrolled.
